Zoom images serve two purposes: profile identification and virtual backgrounds. Profile photos help meeting participants identify each other, while virtual backgrounds have become a key professional branding tool.

Virtual backgrounds need to be high resolution to look natural alongside HD video feeds. Low-quality backgrounds are immediately noticeable and can be distracting.
